A senior hardware product role owning Fleano's Telematics Control Unit end to end across product definition, vendor leadership, certification, and field scale-up.
Own the end-to-end product definition and execution of Fleano's Telematics Control Unit (TCU) as a cloud-first, security-critical automotive device.
Work hands-on with OEM, Tier-1, chipset, ODM, EMS, certification, firmware, and cloud stakeholders to define a scalable hardware platform for the Indian market.
This role is expected to be equity-only for the first 12-15 months, with cash component compensation thereafter as Fleano moves through MVP, pilots, and early commercial traction.
Hardware product definition
Own the TCU product vision, roadmap, and SKU strategy across 2G/4G/LTE, GNSS, CAN, BLE, sensors, IP rating, and related device requirements.
Define compute, memory, power, thermal, and enclosure requirements and translate cloud, security, and OTA needs into hardware constraints.
Make platform-level trade-offs between cost, performance, reliability, and certification.
Vendor, chipset & ODM leadership
Act as the single accountable product owner for external hardware partners across chipset vendors, ODM or EMS partners, automotive suppliers, and labs.
Work directly with ecosystems such as Qualcomm, MediaTek, Quectel, u-blox, and comparable partners to drive RFQs, BOM optimization, cost-down initiatives, and roadmap alignment.
Hold vendors accountable on quality, timelines, and field performance.
Embedded, firmware & cloud alignment
Partner with embedded and firmware teams on boot chain and secure boot requirements.
Define OTA strategy including A/B partitions, rollback, and kill switches.
Drive device health, diagnostics, and lifecycle telemetry while keeping device capabilities aligned with cloud ingestion and command semantics.
Automotive compliance & certification
Own AIS-140 and broader automotive EMC, safety, and telecom compliance readiness.
Drive certification planning, audits, and documentation.
Ensure firmware update and cybersecurity evidence is audit-ready.
Manufacturing, field trials & scale
Own EVT, DVT, and PVT milestones.
Drive pilot deployments and real-world field validation.
Incorporate feedback from fleets, installers, and operations teams while leading cost and reliability improvements for mass deployment.
